Dr. LaTara Demps, M.D., Founder of The Holystic Life is a Board Certified Surgeon with over 20 years of medical experience. Although surgery was my career; It was not my calling. I accepted Jesus in my heart since the age of six years old. However, as a teenager, I set my mind to becoming a physician. One day in an overnight prayer session I was praying diligently to the Lord, begging him to allow me to become a doctor, and he spoke to me and said," that you're going to preach my word all across the world." Initially, this declaration was not welcomed because back in the 90's to spread God's word all across the world required me to become a missionary. There was no social media back then. As I kneeled there praying diligently, a 12 year old young man came to me filled in the Holy Spirit and said God says, " He will allow you to do what you want to do for a season, but at the appointed time you must do what he called you to do." Well nearly 30 years later, I'm at the top of my career living my so-called best life when everything changes. For no reason I became discontented with everything in my life. I like to call this period the time of being gracefully broken. First, God graciously removed the brass handcuffs from my wrist and dismantled the idol of materialism from my heart, and showed me a new way to live debt-free, which leads to being stress-free. Then he caused me to feel unsettled in my career. I thought I was burned out, not knowing that I was really being pushed towards my destiny. After removing those two layers, he then began to enlighten me to the brokenness of my soul, and begin to heal me by transforming my mind, my will, and my emotions. As a result of having a renewed mind, I began to have a desire to take better care of the tabernacle, which is my body. I studied multiple lifestyle changes and finally adopted the ones that were best for me and led to weight loss and achieving my ideal goal weight and sustaining it for over 10 years now. Now that the vessel has been reformed. He began to fill it with his Holy Spirit, showing me revelations in his word, giving me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding into an intimate relationship with him, and teaching me how to walk by the Spirit and engage him in the Spiritual Realm. At first I only knew the Lord as my savior. Over the course of time he became Abba, my father, and now on a deeper, more intimate relationship level, he's now my Friend. He's given me the desire to share this knowledge with everyone who wants to know God in a more intimate, deeper, spiritual level. People who want to integrate God in every aspect of their life: Body, Soul, and Spirit. People who want to live in prosperity in all aspects of their lives. Harmoniously aligned with themself, with God, and their fellow man.
